In early\u003cbr\u003e2026 Elton wrote an article for UnHerd titled ‘It’s\u003cbr\u003etime for neo-Temperance’, which drew comparisons\u003cbr\u003ebetween the historic anti-alcohol temperance\u003cbr\u003emovement, and the current movement to curb the\u003cbr\u003euse of social media; seen as a contemporary source\u003cbr\u003eof societal ill. While researching the article, Elton\u003cbr\u003ediscovered that during the temperance movement,\u003cbr\u003emany artists and printmakers were commissioned\u003cbr\u003eto create work illustrating the ideas of the crusade.\u003cbr\u003eElton writes in his article “To succeed today, the neo-\u003cbr\u003eTemperance movement must find and celebrate its very\u003cbr\u003eown Hogarths, Cruikshanks, and Brontës and propagate\u003cbr\u003etheir works in the physical world.
